TGIF

It's Friday! Yes, today will be making the trip to my hubby's office where his mentor will bring us to register our temp residency.

Gosh, it was a cold walk. The wind seems to take the expressions off my face. I didn't see anyone wearing gloves, so well, I didn't wana look out of place. I tried to breathe slowly and less deeply. Breathe too hard, the nose will experience a 'sudden freeze', breathe out too fast, condensation takes place and you'll start to have mucus. Now I know why some of them kept clearing their noses.

Met his mentor, Mike, who brought us there. We thought it's ok to walk since it's just 2 bus stops away but we soon regret cos it gets colder as we walked. When we reached there, it was closed for lunch - 11.30am. I thought S'pore's agencies are bureaucratic and inflexible. Even Mike commented on the bureaucracy of the govt agencies here. I guess it's the same everywhere.

So we went back to his office, this time in a bus, we split up to have lunch and met again at 1.20pm to go back to the community office to make our residency passes.

We had lunch at one of the Asian restaurants which I mentioned that a bowl of rice cost us 3 Fr (about S$4-S$5). Food was ok, just that it's a little saltish. This was the view from the restaurant. During lunch time, we saw quite a number of people jogging along this river. Jogging is one of the favourite pastimes here for the Swiss.

We went to the supermart near his workplace, called Migros, which you can find almost everywhere. Somewhat like NTUC. They have another one called Coop, which is somewhat like Cold Storage. Another called, Berkat, which is like Seng Siong hehe :)

Oh they have their own weighing system. Just pick the stuff you want, check the number that's indicated and then press the number on the weighing machine and fwa la, you have your price tag sticker :) So saves on manpower.
