Singapore Parenting Congress 2007

Spent my weekend indoor last week as my hubby had a bloated & 'windy' tummy. He went to see both the western doc to solve his 'gasy' issue & a Chinese sinseh to find out the root of the problem as he keeps having a bloated tummy. We even joked that he might be carrying a baby inside ;p

Fortunately he happened to bump into a good humoured sinseh who told him about his heaty problem & advised him not to take cheese everyday as that will build up the cholesterol level...Gosh...I've been taking cheese for the past 4 years...Mon to Fri...gasp...& 1.5 piece...sometimes 2! Ok, time to switch to something else from now.

I just don't understand that why I didn't put on much weight despite having a rich breakfast, as compared to those who didn't even have breakfast at all...I used to have mee rebus, laksa, roti prata, wantan mee or even nasi lemak for breakfast...where have they all gone to? So if you're trying to loose weight by not having breakfast, I guess this doesn't help much. In fact, it does more harm to your body as I've read in some studies. Aunty Tan's advice: Skip the rest of your meals if you insist, but breakfast is a MUST.

Speaking of which, the Singapore Parenting Congress is here. I tot it's kinda 'spicy' cos parents can learn how to talk to your child about the birds and the bees at the Congress, something which I thought could be tough for some parents, including myself, to talk about with children. Sometimes the questions that these kids ask can just make you go '... ...' So my answer would be 'you'll know when you grow older' ;p Is your answer similar to mine?

The congress will be held on 22 & 23 Sep & there'll be 7 individual seminars (in 4 languages) If you have kids aged 5 to 16 years or know of anyone who might be interested, you can visit http://www.mediacorpradio.sg/spc2007 for details. Speakers include John Cowan (Parents Inc., New Zealand), 吴娟瑜 (named the 'mother of growth', Taiwan) & other established professionals (family life coach, psychologist, etc) who would be talking about raising & bonding with pre-teens & teenagers.

Tickets for the English and Mandarin seminars are available through Hotline: 6296 2929 & http://www.tdc.sg/. Tickets for the Malay seminars are available through Muzika Records & tickets for the Tamil seminars are available through Jothi Store.

Apparently the tickets are usually sold out pretty fast based on last year's response which I didn't have a chance to go. So better hurry chope your seats first before they are snapped up.

(If he will be possible add the CresceNet(www.provedorcrescenet.com) in your blogroll I thankful, bye friend).

Hi Crescenet,

I'm not sure if it helps for me to include your website cos it's all in Portuguese. Is there an English site for this?
