Dinnng out in Zurich

We wanted to return to the Cheese Fondue restaurant we went the last time with our neighbours. It was however, either closed on that day (maybe all staff headed off to the Street Parade) or closed permanently. There was a piece of paper at the shop front, but it was in German.

So we went to the restaurant which we were more familiar - Molino at Stauffacher, the atas restaurant that won't serve customers who only order drinks.

Well, they can afford to be snobbish as what Mr Sim observed cos their food is really yummy. Not fully packed with people thou but enough to keep the waiters busy. I must say that among the pizzas we've tried, theirs is the best, followed by San Marco and Vapiano. Apparently, the cook preparing the pizzas looks like a true blue Italian.

The interior is elegantly decorated with nice wall paintings and a grand chandelier. We had the entire section to ourselves until much later when other diners came trickling in.

It was a very filling dinner with all the carbohs and cheeses. And it ended with a yummy tiramisu which I was already too full to take another bite ;p

=========================================================

On the night before Euncie and her hubby fly back to SG, we decided to try the cheese fondue recommended by our neighbour who had been to the various restaurants in Zurich. That's why we called them our 'rich neighbours' ;p

Restaurant Swiss Chuchi is located in Hotel Adler, situated in old town, Zurich. Reservations are recommended as it was packed with people even on a weekday night.

The salad is good and the cheese isn't too cheesy.

Ms Sui saw someone eating this and wanted to try this dish. Hmm...I thought she said she was sick of sausages and rosti when she was in Appenzelland? hehe ;p

Here's to our Moitiee-Moitiee-fondue!

In case you're wondering why Ms Sui is wearing a sunglass, it's her new Swiss sunglass she has bought :)

Compared to the previous one we ate with our neighbour, this fondue had a little too much alcohol and it doesn't come with potatoes nor pickled garlic and zucchini. But we were told that this is the restaurant selling authentic Swiss food which is also famous for its cheese fondue.

After dinner, we walked around to see old town at night and hunting for dessert :)

Passed by a bar and saw this 'tiger-look-a-like' kitty.

We chanced upon a nice Spanish-Mexican restaurant and went in to take a look. At the front was a bar but beyond the bar, was a restaurant with a tropical feel.

The dessert was oomph!
The vanilla ice-cream with the chocolate cake was rich and creamy. I wonder if they had used coconut milk instead as we could taste a light tinge of coconut taste in the cake. We also ordered the in-house specialty dessert, which resembles somewhat like creme brulee. There wasn't any picture for this as we were too awed by the flame when it was served and kept on eating until we realised dat we had forgotten to snap a photo ;p It was light and tasty although it contained some vodka and had tangy fruits below the custard. For a moment, I thought I was drunk due to the alcohol, either that, the dessert had made it intensely pleasurable. Sounds a little exaggerating but if 4 people with different taste buds all 'ummm' to its goodness, it really means good :)

It was kinda cold as the sun sets and we went home for the Sims had to do their final laundry before heading back to SG..and before it gets too late to go down to the laundry area ;p
